2012 was the first year microbreweries were allowed to create and sell their craft beer in St. Pete, having been banned from manufacturing malt beverages in 2010. Today the craft beer industry in the area is thriving and by the time you finish reading this paragraph a new brewery will most likely have opened.

Hidden in the back of a hydroponic growing supply shop, they have an itty-bitty tasting room where you can sample their home grown brews. They also sell distilling and brewing supplies.

3 Daughters Brewing

This is a family-run brewery, named because they have 3 daughters. Stop into the tasting room to try their locally-made beers as well as their 3 Daughters Cider.

Cage Brewing

Microbrewery featuring 17 taps that showcase their own craft beer. They also have the fixings that pair well with beer drinking: pinball machines, video games, foosball, and cornhole.

Pinellas Ale Works

Also known as PAW, it was started by two home brewers. It is located in the Grand Central district and they have a 15-barrel, steam-fired brewhouse with 30 taps in their tasting room. Try one of their seasonal, experimental, or award-wining beers.

Brewmaster Jon McCracken graduated form the American Brewer’s Guild in 2007 and was the head brewer at “3Needs Brewery in Vermont; El Toro and Hermitage Brewing in California; and Tampa Bay Brewing Company in Florida before opening STBC. On Wednesdays, they serve $4 pints from 3pm to 7pm and on Mondays, if you’re in the service industry, it’s half-priced from 4pm to 10pm.
